The Big Truth

Is it OK to drink in front of your kids? Surely they can't tell?

As a group of children answer questions on their parents' drinking, they reveal how they know more than many adults might expect, and begin to expose some of the hidden harms of adults' alcohol consumption.

This video brings to life what researchers have found - that children from a young age learn to recognise alcohol and the reasons adults drink, and that parents' drinking can make their children feel worried, anxious and stressed.

While 9 out of 10 parents feel it is their responsibility to set a good example with their drinking, only half of children say their parents' drinking behaviour provides a positive influence. What kind of role model are you?
